On completion of testing and repairing any faults found at the time of testing Certification is issued.  Councils request annual Fire Safety Certificates (under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation, 2000) for each site in their district.  The certificate must state that the emergency lighting equipment has been tested by a person qualified to do so and in accordance to the Australian Standards AS2293.2 (1995) and signed accordingly by that qualified person.
